Delivery Policy and Limitations

Swimming Pool Wholesale Warehouse has drop-ship locations across the United States. Therefore, we have virtually every item in stock somewhere. We make every attempt to ship products from the nearest warehouse to you, the customer. This provides quickest delivery from the largest assortment of products.

Even though most products ship within 24 to 48 hours, there may be times when the warehouse does not promptly ship orders within this time frame. Therefore, if you must have a product delivered by a certain date, pay for expedited delivery charges and/or let us know in the "NOTES" section of the checkout page about your desires. We will communicate via email with customers about any customer delivery concerns. Do NOT call and leave messages if you have any delivery issues; just reply to your emailed order confirmation with any questions.

Make certain you understand the customer responsibilities near bottom of this page when submitting your delivery address.

FREE Delivery Policy

Swimming Pool Wholesale Warehouse provides free of extra shipping charges via ground service on all orders above $100 and delivered to locations within the lower 48 continental United States unless specifically noted in exceptions below or otherwise on the web page for a specific product.

FREE DELIVERY does not mean there are no shipping charges incurred by us. FREE DELIVERY means we have included normal shipping charges in the price of the product for the customer's convenience. If a product is returned per our Return Policy, these normal shipping charges will be deducted if the item is returned through no fault of ours. If items are returned, you must pay for shipping - including reimbursement for any free shipping.

Your order will be delivered by UPS, FedEx, US Postal Service, or other small package service. Motor Carrier shipments like pool kits, heaters, spas, and other large items, which must be shipped via large truck, will have Free Delivery to a business address only when clearly marked as part of the price and product description. See details below. If eligible for Free Delivery, motor carrier shipments may also be picked-up by the customer at the nearest freight terminal at no extra expense.

NOTES:

  1. If the original delivery destination or services are changed by the customer prior to delivery without authorization from Swimming Pool Wholesale (POOL1.com), then the customer will be subject to any subsequent fees charged by the delivering carrier to Swimming Pool Wholesale Warehouse plus a $10 per incident handling fee.
  2. If the delivery address supplied by the customer is not accurate or delivering location refuses delivery, and Swimming Pool Wholesale Warehouse is billed extra from the carrier for changing the address to a valid one or storage fees before delivery; then we will chargeback to the customer any extra fees incurred by us for this correction plus a $10 per incident handling fee.

Warehouse Truck shipments:
Sometimes our warehouse may be located within an easy driving distance to customers. If available, our warehouse may opt to deliver the products on their own delivery truck. Normally, the warehouse truck delivery charges are the same as UPS or motor carrier rates. However, the warehouse direct shipping method will assure less handling of your shipment. Therefore, your items will arrive with less handling and "tossing around" during transit. In the case of warehouse truck shipments, we will not be able to supply a tracking number because the shipment will be delivered by the warehouse truck route.

Exceptions:

  1. Orders under $25 are subject to a $5 handling fee in addition to minimum shipping charges.
  2. Residential delivery will cost extra on motor freight shipments (see below) only; not UPS or FedEx shipments. In addition, we reserve the right to refuse any order, which requires abnormally high shipping costs. These include delivery to an island or transport via ferry or air to the customer's address.
  3. Backordered small orders: If multiple item orders require shipping at different times (including backorders), we reserve the right to split the order. If this splitting creates two or more small orders below $100, we will apply the minimum shipping and handling fees to each order. In other words; if an order is for $125 and thus qualifies for free shipping, but 1 item, which cost $80 is backordered, and the customer still wants the balance of the order shipped before the backordered item; the order will be split into two orders: Thus creating one order for $45 plus shipping. The backorder item will be on a separate order for $80 plus shipping.

Specific products, which require extra shipping charges, will be noted as such on their respective web page. We will quote the shipping charges via reply email after you checkout online; or you may contact us before ordering at info@POOL1.com or call 931-684-5030 (x185) for details on specific products.

International Orders

Our standard delivery area is within the lower 48 continental United States. Most items can be shipped to Alaska, Hawaii, US Territories or even internationally (additional shipping charges will be incurred). To contact us regarding shipping outside of the continental US, please send e-mail to info@POOL1.com or just enter an order and we will provide a shipping quote prior to processing.

Hawaii, Puerto Rico and Alaska: If your address is in Hawaii, Puerto Rico or Alaska and you selected ground shipping, please note that your order will be shipped via USPS Priority Service, not FedEx or UPS Ground, and may require additional charges. If you select any of the expedited services, we will attempt to ship your order via those services, but our online store calculator may not be accurate. We will contact you with authorization for additional charges before shipping the order.

International Buyers: Please note that import duties, taxes and charges are not included in the item price or shipping charges. These charges are the buyer's responsibility. Please check with your country's customs office to determine what these additional costs will be prior to buying. These charges are normally collected by the delivering freight (shipping) company or when you pick the item up; do not confuse them for additional shipping charges. If the shipper or shipping company charges us back import fees for VAT, GST taxes, or any other customs and document preparation charges to assist the delivery of your package; we reserve the right to charge these additional fees to your credit card. We do not mark merchandise values below value or mark items as "gifts" - US and International government regulations prohibit such behavior.

Motor Carrier Deliveries

Many of our larger products and items weighing over 75 pounds will ship via motor carrier. All standard motor carrier deliveries are tailgate deliveries to a business address or customer pick-up at the nearest delivering carrier terminal. You will need to be prepared to unload the package and transfer it into your home or office once it arrives. 

If you require inside delivery, residential delivery, or liftgate delivery for a motor carrier shipment, please notify us. We can arrange for the trucking company to assist you. There is an additional fee for this service. It is your responsibility to make final delivery arrangements with the delivering carrier. However, if the delivery destination is changed by the customer without authorization from Swimming Pool Wholesale, then the customer will be subject to any fees charged by delivery carrier to Swimming Pool Wholesale Warehouse plus a $10 handling fee. In addition, if the customer authorizes changes in delivery procedures, such as residential delivery, inside delivery, or liftgate service, then we will add the freight companies charges afterwards when the bill is received from the carrier plus a $10 handling fee. NOTE: Prepaying us for special delivery services is much cheaper than paying for them after the freight company charges us back for your delivery requirements.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) for motor freight shipments:

  1. How do I know if my item will require motor freight shipment services?
       1.     Answer:
               If the item you are ordering does not have a list of "Delivery Terms" in a dropdown box just above the Quantity box when ordering, then it will ship regular UPS or FedEx ground with no special motor freight charges.
     
  2. What service is included in Residential Delivery for motor freight shipments?
       1.     Answer:
               Residential Delivery pays for the large motor freight truck to deliver the item to your house address instead of a business address in a commercial area. Residential curbside delivery DOES NOT include unloading the truck. You are responsible for unloading the truck. Do not depend on the truck driver to help unload your item.
      
  3. What if I can not unload the truck?
       1.   Answer:
              If you need special unloading and handling, you will pay extra for these services. You should choose the "Liftgate service" option when ordering your item to obtain the best price for this service. If you try to request "Liftgate Service" after you have placed your order with us or after the shipment has left our loading dock, this service may cost over $125.00 extra.
       
  4. Can I schedule a specific time for delivery of the residential shipment?
       1.    Answer:
             The delivering truck will not commit to a specific delivery hour. Most, but not all, carriers will call you to arrange a general delivery date and time. This delivery time will be general. It will be "in the afternoon" or "in the morning" during normal business hours in the weekday.
       
  5. How can I determine if I qualify for free delivery to a business address?
    1. Answer:
      Does your business have a truck loading dock?
            If yes, then you qualify for free business delivery.
            If no, go to answer 2.
    2. Answer:
      If you responded "NO" to answer 1:
           a. Do you understand that you must remove the product from the truck with your own labor and equipment?
           b. Do you understand that you may be charged back for extra fees if you verbally authorize additional services upon delivery?
      If you respond "YES" to both parts a and b, then we can ship your item at your risk of being charged back by the delivering carrier. If carrier charges us, we will bill you for their fees plus $10 handling fee.

    If you respond with "NO" to answer 1 and "NO" to either parts a or b of answer 2, then we can not ship your product to a business address at no charge. You must contact us for prepayment of additional services, or you may choose residential delivery and/or liftgate service if desired. 

  6. I have a business operated at my home; therefore, I do not have to pay for residential delivery, do I?
    1. Answer:
      Normally, motor carriers will only deliver to commercial areas, which can handle large 18 wheeler trucks. The residential charge is the charge we must pay to the motor carrier for the "non-commercial" delivery service. If you want to take the chance that the trucking company does not charge us back for the residential delivery, we will work with you. BUT, if the motor carrier charges us back for residential delivery charges or other delivery related charges (liftgate, inside delivery, etc.), we will charge you for the same amount. See question 1 above. Please note that residential delivery charges and ancillary services cost much more after the shipment leaves our warehouse. For example, residential delivery may cost upwards of $80 after the shipment leaves our warehouse, rather than the $40 or $60 prepaid by us at shipping time or shown on our website when placing your order.

Customer responsibilities:

It is YOUR (the customer's) responsibility to keep your billing and delivery information accurate. If the customer submits an incorrect delivery address, and we incur additional shipping charges to and/or from the bad address, the customer agrees to reimburse us for their mistake. This includes deliveries, which are refused or the carrier (UPS, FedEX, postal service, etc.) can not locate after several attempts.

If you provide a wrong delivery address, you must inform us immediately by email when your mistake is discovered. If the package has already left our warehouse, we will do everything we can to intercept and redirect the box to the newly supplied address; but there may be additional charges billed to us by the package delivery service. The customer agrees to reimburse us for all additional charges incurred by us for correcting their mistake.

If the customer refuses to take responsibility for their mistake, we will cancel the order per our cancellation policy which may involve additional restocking fees.

Returned Items

Per our Return Policy, any shipping charges whether invoiced to customer or included and disguised as free delivery will be deducted from any returns before credit is computed and restocking fees calculated.
